Text Box: Customer Satisfaction
Special thanks to Eldridge Parker and Aaron Polston from our Caterpillar Reclamation group for the work they performed recently at the Caterpillar Morton facility. Our customer there thanks them for their outstanding efforts and accomplishments in the scrap wood situation with very little supervision. Good job, Eldridge and Aaron!

Visible Improvements
Thanks to the VSI cleaners at the ADM facility in Peoria, IL. The Safety Director at ADM passed on his compliments to Vicky Leinweber, VSI Safety Director, and said that the facility has never looked so good. Keep up the good work!

A Good Example
Special thanks to Dan Snell, VSI Facility Manager at Caterpillar Mapleton, for taking a day out of his vacation to attend an interviewing skills seminar at Bradley University. This dedication is just one of the many reasons we are a leader in the janitorial industry. Thanks, Dan, for setting such a good example.

Great Work!
Our customer at Caterpillar Reclamation passes on his thanks to Ed Norris, a carpenter for VSI in the Reclamation division, for his extra efforts in accommodating the customer’s needs for the construction of special shipping crates. The customer especially appreciates Ed’s willingness to do things on a moment’s notice. Thanks, Ed, for exceeding the customer’s expectations!

Living our Values
Special recognition to Kim Walker, a general cleaner at Caterpillar AB, for living the VSI values through her work. We recently received a letter from our customer for Kim’s conscientious manner and thorough job performance. The customer really appreciates that Kim stops at her desk every day to see if anything has been overlooked or needs special attention. Kim truly exemplifies the VSI value of “striving to exceed customers’ expectations.” Great work, Kim!

Thanks and Good Luck
Mason Ledgess, VSI Facility Manager, says thanks to Paul Kirker for the work he did for VSI as a general cleaner at the Caterpillar LC facility and wishes him good luck in his new position for VSI at Caterpillar AB.

A Team Effort
Thanks to the entire VSI crew at the Caterpillar facility in Corinth, Mississippi, for their extra efforts in cleaning the customer’s carpet. The customer was very impressed and this would not have been possible without everyone’s efforts. Thank you!

Text Box: Please be advised that for the time being, Wal-Mart is refusing to cash our employees’ checks.  The problem is not on VSI’s end; rather, it is due to the nature of ADP’s banking structure.  Wal-Mart’s check cashing service cannot differentiate between companies that use ADP.  A company in Kentucky that uses ADP has had a check refused for insufficient funds.  To Wal-Mart, all companies that use ADP draw from the same bank account (this is not true).  So they have frozen all accounts of companies until the affected company in Kentucky can reconcile their issue.  I have been on the phone with ADP and Wal-Mart and neither side is able or willing to clear things up so that VSI employees can use the Wal-Mart service.  There is an 877 number on every check that a check vendor can use to verify the legitimacy of the check; however, Wal-Mart refuses to use this resource and instead relies on its own check cashing service to verify the funds.

This is not the first time that this is happened, and I expect that the issue will be clear up on its own within a few weeks. However I have received a few notices from employees in Morton and Mossville who have not been able to cash their checks at Wal-Mart.  Please understand that this is a Wal-Mart issue and that VSI is not being irresponsible with employee funds. This issue is not within VSI’s control and we expect it will be resolved shortly.
